I forgot to mention this in my other post:
On Thursday, my chorus teacher decided it would be a fun idea to let a student teach the chorus class. SHE CHOSE ME!! I was so excited, becaus I love to sing and I love chorus, and I love our songs! I stood up, and said "Hey guys! I'm your chorus teacher for today!" Right off the back this kid sais no your not. I wouldn't have been so bothered, but he's one of my REALLY good friends. Then a bunch of kids were like "Where did you go to college?" "What's your degree?" "What did you major in?" I was like, seriously people?
So, I passed out music for our first song, The Erie Canal, and decided it would be good to go over the ending for all of the different parts. I started with the Sopranos (the higher female part). I then proceeded with the Altos (lower female part) and the Baritones (the middle guy part, but the only guy part in our chorus). They were fine. We've been working on the song for awhile, so I had them do it from the beginning. Our Altos consist of a few people who actually like to sing and try, and then kids that don't like to and barely sing. We usually have this one girl who overpowers everyone else, she's really good and she tries really hard to blend, but the altos are so quiet, but she wasn't there today. So the Altos started singing the Soprano part a few times in our song, but the ironic thing was the parts they sung Soprano were the parts where Altos had the melody (the normal tune of the song)! I was like okay, let's review that. We did, but they were still quiet.
We have construction going on at our school because it's being redone, and the workers were quite far away. As a reference to try to get them louder, I told the Altos to sing so the construction workers could hear them. It sort of worked, they were the loudest they'd ever been! Without the girl who usually holds them together! I was so excited!
It was great, but I still had a problem. A lot of the kids were being really mean to me. I always like to stand up as much as I can when singing, 1.) because it's better for your posture because you're not as tempted to slouch, and 2.) because I get fidgety in chairs. Most of the other kids in the class don't like to stand. The were refusing to stand, and it was really getting on my nerves! I sucked it up though, and eventually got them to stand.
One of our songs is We Are the World. It's everyone's favorite because, as eighth graders, we got to pick it! There are solos in the song, and they haven't been assigned yet (auditions are tomorrow) I decided to mix it up a bit and point to random people to do the solos. Even though some people didn't really do it when I chose them, we helped each other out and it was fun. Overall, it was a fun experience :)

Some Stuff That Happened
Yea, so I've been busy. Pretty busy. EXTREMELY busy these past few weeks. < Hence why no posts have been...well, posted. So your probably wondering how my birthday dinner with my parents went? It didn't. My mom forgot. Thanks Mom. I went out with my Grandpa, though, and it was probably better than it would have been with my parents (sorry Mom and Dad!). We went to this Japanese place that had Hibachi, which is where they cook your meal, IN FRONT OF YOU! There is this Japanese alcoholic drink called Sake (pronounced Sah-key), and the chef would take the bottle and squirt it, from a distance, into everyone's mouth. Except me. Because I'm not old enough to drink. I got this like fruity stuff, which was pretty good. Apparently the inside of my shirt liked it too, because both times it went down there. It was a pretty fun night and the food was delicious!
I have an AMAZINGLY bad memory, so these past few weeks have just been rehearsal, and stuff. Tomorrow we have rehearsal until AT LEAST 8 pm. No earlier. Oh, boy. Hopefully it will be a bonding experience for the cast and crew (if you're unaware, my cast and crew have some SERIOUS issues getting along). Why, you ask, is it so long? Well, I shall tell you. So, I'm in this chorus in my state, and we had rehearsal on Friday. We had to go during school, from about 8:30 and then left at 4. I was supposed to have rehearsal until about 6 pm that day, and a crew member was with me because he was in the chorus. We were planning on going late, but then I got texts from two of my cast members. One of them said the school caught on fire. He's not the brightest bulb in the box. The other was my from my smarter friend, and said rehearsal was cancelled.
So, the crew member, his name is Ben, called his friend, who happens to be the stage manager. She said that in the middle of the day, there was a bunch of smoke in the computer lab, and that the entire school got evacuated and sent home. Now, another person who was in it,Claudia, was like "OMG!! I have to call Megan!" (Megan is a friend who is not involved at all in the show, Claudia isn't either). Megan said that never happened. We were all very confused. I left my backpack, with all my homework that wasn't done, in the school. My friend said my director emailed all my teachers explaining what happened, so I became paranoid, thinking it was a prank on us, because she would have had to be with the director to know that.
We eventually figured out it was not a joke, that after most people had gone home, but not the people involved in my show, a computer in one of the computer labs malfunctioned, and the room filled with smoke, and everyone was evacuated from the building. They ran two scenes in the parking lot, but then they all just got sent home. Interesting. So as a result of that, we have rehearsal tomorrow to AT LEAT 8 pm. Terriffic. I guess it won't be that bad.
Some cast members are considering ordering pizza and having it delivered. Too bad I think I'm lactose intolerant!! My stomach was KILLING me today. It hurt so freaking much. I'm not positive what it was from, but it was in NO way a regular stomach-ache. Definitely not. And of course, when my dad went to CVS to get me some Tums, they were closed!! So I've had to endure the incredible pain! Oh, what a joy!
I had fun yesterday, though. I went to the circus with my friend and my cousins. When we went to leave, my mom forgot where she parked her car. My mom, my friend, and I walked around for 45 minutes looking for it. I found it rather easily when I took the lead looking for it, and I wasn't even with her when she parked it. Wow, mom, wow.
